In June a few years ago, we had just gotten back from vacation and headed to Petsmart to buy food for our beagle, Toby, who was at our vet while we had been out of town. On our way into the store we stopped outside to check out the dogs that HSFC had brought to find a home. We spent a few minutes admiring the dogs there and went inside to make our purchase. On our way out we stopped to talk to the quiet, little beagle on the end. As we touched him through the crate he nudged his body up against the side. We spent a few minutes petting him and one of the volunteers informed us that he had a possible seizure issue and had been adopted out once and returned. We left after a few minutes but couldn’t get Cletus off our mind. The beagle we already had was a rescue and also had a seizure disorder so this was nothing new to us.  The whole drive home we talked about Cletus and how cute he was but we wondered how the two boys would get along. Once at home we got our kids together and took the family back to see Cletus. To make a long story short we adopted Cletus and later that day a volunteer brought him to our home for a visit. We have a ½ acre fenced yard and immediately Cletus fell in love with his yard! The next day we brought his brother Toby home from being boarded and anxiously awaited to see how the two would get along. From the minute they met they were brothers. Over time Cletus was diagnosed with epilepsy and is on daily meds to control the seizures just like his brother. They love chasing each other around the yard and running to the corner to “talk” to their friends in neighboring yards!

More than anything they love snuggling up against one another to takes their naps as you can see from the picture. We are so happy that we found Cletus and that these two brothers can share their lives together.
