Update on Charlie: Charlie's Surgery on January 5th was successful and he is doing very well! We are still trying to collect much needed funds to cover this large expense. Please donate to Charlie's Fund.
Charlie's Story: Charlie arrived in the arms of a man who had been feeding him outside for several weeks. He was concerned about Charlie’s welfare and wanted him to have more than they were able to provide. Charlie was just so happy to be held and cuddled that he didn’t mind one bit! He is on of the sweetest, most personable kittens to come across my path. He just wants to be near his people and would love to spend all day in a lap (aside from some play time of course). Charlie’s special needs were not easy to diagnosis. First he had a couple lumps near his neck, then a urinary tract infection, and then Charlie started “acting strange” and his foster mom suspected he was having seizures. Charlie would stare off into space, cry out as if in pain, and not be able to control his bladder. He was very scared and we were very scared for him! It turns out Charlie has a liver shunt, and he truly needs our help now more than ever! His condition is operable as the shunt is on the exterior of the liver and the specialist is confident that he will be able to perform the surgery. Including Charlie’s diagnostics his medical bills will be around $2,500.
