Special needs cats are those cats who may need a little more care and attention. They are also cats who may have needed special medical care to make them adoptable. These are wonderful cats and their needs just make them all the more special. Consider adopting a diabetic cat, FIV +, Feline Leukemia, or an older cat. They all deserve a home!
Please consider donating toward their ongoing care while they wait for the perfect, loving home.

UPDATE April 11, 2011: Pumpkin is doing well after his surgery. Thank you to all those who donated to make it possible.
I'm a sweet little boy who is only 8 months old. The vets just told my foster parents that I have a liver shunt. I don't know what that is - but I will need surgery really soon.
I never thrived when I was little but after awhile, I seemed better. We thought I just had to gain weight - then I could find my forever home. But, no matter how hard my foster parents tried, I just couldn't gain much weight. Then we found out about my liver shunt. The surgery will cost around $3,000. I don't have that kind of money! Will you please donate to my Humane Society fund?
I may be small but I have a big heart and sweet personality. I love being held on your lap and petted. Plus, I like to snuggle in bed with foster mom and dad. Someday, I'll have a forever home of my very own.
If you would like to make a donation towards Pumpkin's medical expenses, continue here:

Special Needs Cats - Sammie |
|
Sammie
Sammie, black female DSH, currently at the shelter from foster care. Sammie is so cute, AKA "Bent Ear" because she looks like she slept on her ear wrong. She did have some kind of injury before she came into our care. She's got a very sweet temperament, and loves affection. Sammie just needs a little help keeping her ear cleaned. She's certainly worth seeing for yourself, she's a good cat! Please inquire with Chali at

Special Needs Cats - Oliver and Leona |
|
Leona and Oliver:
Oliver and Leona are currently in foster care. We've found a soul mate for Oliver, the polydactyl, Hemingway Cat with Leona, the lovely Domestic Long Hair Calico Cat! These two kitties have been diagnosed with FIV, the feline immunovirus, so their immune system is weaker than normal cats. They can still live long, happy lives and they are waiting patiently for someone to give them a forever home. Please contact
