| Crunch Time |
We are feeling the economic pinch. Money is tight and we struggle to meet our budget each month. You may be feeling this in your own household, making it hard to give as much money as you would like. But you can still help! Volunteer in ways that save operating costs at our shelter. Offer to drive animals to their vet appointments. Join up with others on Facebook to Clip Coupons for HSFC supplies. Take laundry home to wash for us. Use the easy give-back programs shown here. Hold your own dog wash, lemonade stand or bake sale. Suggest fundraising ideas to our Fundraising Chairperson, but more importantly, ask how you can help implement one of the dozens of good ideas sitting on the shelf because we just do not have enough volunteers willing to lead them.

| Young Prince William |
Prince William has the “wise eyed” look of one who knows he was dealt a tough hand in life. A kitten with a deformed, mangled back leg, he is lucky to be alive today. His mother and siblings were waiting for hope at the Henry County shelter. The shelter was out of space. This feline family was not going to make it. HSFC responded to a plea to save them. He was placed in a foster home along with his brother Prince Charles where both kittens are now getting great care and much love. Soon our vet partner advised having his leg removed because it was causing him so much discomfort. Before surgery he would hissed would not play with his brother. Now he has good mobility and plays with his toys. His foster mom says he is much happier. Even with this progress, Prince William’s other hind leg needs help. To save his other leg will require more costly surgery. |
