Humane Society Thrift Store
- Donate your gently used household items to our Thrift Store. Operated as a subsidiary organization of the Humane Society, your donations are tax deductable as allowed by law.
- Visit us often to shop for great bargains. All Thrift Store profit goes directly back to the Humane Society to cover our operational expenses.

SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program)
- Donate to our SNAP fund, allowing us to provide spay/neuter vouchers to families who are unable to afford the cost of the surgery.
- Pass on the availability of this program to the low-income pet owners in our county.
Feral Cat Program
- Set up feeding stations, deliver food to feral cat caregivers.
- Trap, take to vet appointments for spay/neuter, temporarily foster during recovery from surgery period, release back to feral colony or socialize for transition to adoptable pet.
Humane Hearts Therapy Program
- Get your own pet involved! Have your pet certified to visit hospitals, nursing homes, and various other institutions to teach the calming, blood pressure-reducing effects of interacting with pets.
- Help schedule and recruit facilities for trained pets to visit.
Pet Food Pantry
- Donate dog or cat food, cat litter or treats to our Pet Food Pantry and you will be feeding the hungry pets in Forsyth County whose owners are having trouble financially.
- Volunteer to be on-call to drive our van or a box truck to pick up larger donations when they become available, or to help unload large donations at our shelter.
Rescue Walkers
- Sign up to be a part of the trained and dedicated volunteers who walk and train our shelter dogs in our Dog Walk Park, keeping them balanced and mentally healthy while they wait to be adopted.
- Donate leashes, limited-slip (aka martingale) collars, Easy Walk or Sensation harnesses for use by our team
- Volunteer for park maintenance like replacing mulch on the pathways or keeping the brush and limbs trimmed back for easy access.
Foster Program
- Take an active part by bringing a pet into your home until a loving, permanent home can be found for them.
- Take foster pets to off-site adoption days.
- Take foster pet to vet for regular checkups and shots (medical needs financially covered by HSFC).
- Provide personal information about pet to be included on website.
