| Volunteer Spotlight: Jeannette Schwenk |
|
You will most often find Jeanette in one of the cat rooms; playing with the cats, grooming them, making sure their bowls are filled with water, even cleaning up the room if needed. Her keen eyes are always on the look out for a kitty who needs a little extra love or attention that day. Once she spots them, she scoops them up and loves on them a bit extra before moving on to her next task. She knows every kitty by name, their personality, and how best to handle them. A real cat whisperer in action!
When the office staff is busy, they can always count on Jeanette to help out. Answering phones, showing the animals to potential adopters, completing adoption paperwork. …Jeanette does it all!
So next time you see Jeanette, please join us in thanking her for all she has done for the HSFC! |

December 2010. From the moment she arrives at the HSFC Adoption Center, Jeanette is charged up and ready to take on whatever is asked of her. And she always does it with a big smile and a cheerful “Yes”.
Once Jeanette is satisfied that the cats are all settled in, she will usually move on to the dog building to ensure all is ok there, too. She will take the dogs for walks or out to the exercise area. If any animal needs to go the vet, she will do that too.
Jeanette has even adopted 2 cats from the shelter: Sherman and Samantha (previously known as Spot and Tiger). There really isn’t anything that Jeanette hasn’t done for the HSFC. That is why she is our Volunteer of the Month!
